How are you? Long time no see - though I'm not sure if I know everyone on this mailing list. =) yesh she knows me but she MISSED me out of the mailing list instead..LOL..my friend resent it to me anyways X)
Still, it is indeed exciting to learn that you're setting up the Quest Alumni Choir! yea my senior asked me to join I applaud your passion and enthusiasm in choral performance. ahem ChOkeS x_x It is by no means easy to start this up. Hopefully, you could come by for a visit to get to know your juniors so that they will also want to join the Alumni Choir when they graduate. That's the way to grow! ;D
It's been a hectic 2008 for QUEST Choir. In case you're interested to know, we've been busy with the following events earlier this year: 1) CCA Open House (Jan) 2) CNY Celebrations (Feb) 3) Speech Day cum Aesthetics Night (Mar-Apr) 4) NDP 2008 (May-Aug) - yes, QUEST Choristers performed before the nation (and world via Internet streaming) at Marina Bay's Floating Platform as part of the NDP Combined Schools' Choir!ohh izzit..that, haha.. i really didnt know =X
Upcoming events which might interest your involvement...
1) HK TRIP IN DEC 2008 To confirm what XXXX has mentioned in his email, yes, QUEST Choir will be going to HK with GESS Choir from 9-12 Dec (4 days). I know XXXX is intending to ask if anyone is interested in joining us. Allow me to first describe to you our current situation. ahhh..i wanna go hk again..but for 4 days only..nah~ i'll pass ;P +it's in e wk whereby term tests would be on if i'm not wrong
We've only asked the agency to block book 80 places for QUEST & GESS Choirs. GESS will be bringing along 30 students + 1 teacher + the teacher's husband & 2 kids (= 34 persons). QTSS will be bringing along 35 students (I'm hoping to reduce this to 30) + 2 teachers (= 37 persons MAX). And of course, there is Ms Khor.ah~ Altogether, we have 72 persons. It's a huge group!
We just might be able to cater to 8 more persons from the Alumni.
You will have to, of course, bear the full cost (at $1,175.00 per pax).??!! PHEEWWWHEEET
Alternatively, you might want to arrange for your own air-tickets, while I can ask the tour agency to include you for everything else (accommodation, meals, land transport & entrance fees to Wax Museum, Disneyland & Ocean Park).ahhh..i wanna go to ocean park again~_~ If you are interested, I urge you to make flight bookings asap as Dec is the peak travelling period. The agency warned us earlier this month that places were already very limited then.
2) COMBINED SCHOOLS' CHOIR CONCERT IN NOV 2008 Ms Khor will be holding a combined schools' choir concert, tentatively on 30 Nov (Sun). Venue isn't confirmed yet. OOOOOO... If you're keen, you might want to approach Ms Khor and ask if you could make some sort of a guest appearance to perform a couple of songs for a start as an Alumni. At the moment, she's training QUEST Choir to sing in sophage (do, re, mi, fa, soh, la, ti). It is her intention to get them to learn as many songs as quickly as they can - very likely in preparation for the concert and SYF 2009. ganbatte ne ^^

So sorry for starting this so late! Well, this is basically an email account created for us to communicate as well as to relay information to everyone who is interested to join the quest alumni choir. Through this email, I will update everyone with what is going to happen and what we can be involved in. Please ask around people from your batch as well as seniors to see if they want to join this singing group. At present moment, it stands at about 10 -12 people but mostly, if not all, girls. Yes, so we might have to settle SSA or SSAA at the moment.huh? more short forms X__X dies~ But as of now I know QTSS is going to have an exchange trip together with GESS Choir to Hong Kong at the end of the year (correct me if I'm wrong Ms Tan.. =) ) Then hopefully Ms khor might want to have another concert this year from the rather good feedback and outcome she received last year.
With regards to the choir, we need to get things going. Perhaps it'll be good if everyone could give me your views and opinion in terms of the conduct of practices ( When, Where and How ) as soon as possible. As to other matters regarding songs and administrative details, it will be taken care of slowly as we proceed. yeap..that's it...hahahahaa..recieved info from my friend bout this concert.. maybe i'll join ;) hahahhahaaaa...but hk trip/performance..i'll pass..lol..not workable for me.. 1. there'll be term test so i cant get LOA...HAHA! XD 2. it's only for 4freaking days..like what can i do man =_= under teacher's survillance somemore..get a life man..*snap* n i'm outta there =_= 3. i don wanna go out with a whole banana bunch of 80 ppl..are u kerayzee?!! >_<
